Day #11

#11- A picture of your celebrity crush

Everyday I have posted more than one picture, so why stop now? My celebrity crushes in order of the love/lust.

1-
James Dean is literally #1-100! He was a phenomenal actor, a photographer, and IMO the best looking guy to ever live.
Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden, and Giant are three amazing movies. It is strange that I could love the movie East of Eden as much as I do, because the book is read constantly by me, but James Dean is perfect, and great looking in it.
I LOVE YOU, JAMES DEAN!
 2-
James Franco, he looks like Jams Dean. Also he is actually a very good actor. Sometimes he doesn't get my most favorite roles, but I still enjoy him in them. He has worked really hard to get where he is, and he is good-looking.
I love you, James Franco.
 3-
Alright this one is entirely lust, Jay Hernandez. He is my latin lover.

 4-
Another one that is entirely based on lust. Miles Austin, one of the receivers for the Cowboys, and yes I made sure that Dallas Star was in this photo. Go Boys, and Miles Austin keep your helmet on, and protect that pretty face. Unless of course you are on the sideline then let me see it.
 5-
Last, but certainly not least is Zach Braff. He is funny, creative, and has great style and taste in music. How can I not love this man? He is kinda goofy, but still good looking. I love you, Zach Braff.

Day 10- A picture of someone you see yourself marrying/ being with in the future.

DUH!!!!

March 5, 2011 @ 12:00 we will be married in the Logan temple!

Sunday, December 5, 2010

There are 9 ladies dancing, and supreme court justices. It is not a coincidence.

#9- A picture of someone that has gotten you through the most.

I think it goes without saying that it is Jesus Christ, on both Day #9, and #7.

I feel that these blogs are meant to let me get to know myself better, and you get to know me better. I will not post Dan again, and once again I could talk about family, or friends, but I think I am going to share something about myself that you may not know.

Anywho so when I tend to be having hard times, and after I have resorted to Christ, and Dan there are three other people that help me forget my troubles,.

Sam (Natalie Portman) in Garden State
I have watched Garden State nearly 500 times for a reason. One, I love it. Two, it reminds me to feel. That might sound weird, but I can't think of any other way to describe it. When I am having a hard time I tend to work very hard at not having any emotion about the situation, and completely numbing myself to it. While it might be good at some times to escape feelings. Sam reminds me that there is a proper escape, and that isn't feeling nothing, "You laugh. I'm not saying I don't cry but in between I laugh and I realize how silly it is to take anything too seriously. Plus, I look forward to a good cry. It feels pretty good." Right, after this we learn that Large doesn't even remember the last time he cried. In the movie she helps Large get over his feeling of numbness(due to the constant prescription of mood related drugs), and when I watch it I cry, laugh, and most importantly feel.

Josh Ritter
Look at that man? Doesn't he just make you happy? He has an upbeat song that fits every feeling I could ever have. I don't know how he did it, but I could be in the dumps, and his upbeat song about being in the dumps makes me upbeat. I love listening to Josh Ritter, and I don't think there will ever be a moment or mood that he can't fit into. His lyrics are intelligent, and his music makes you want to dance.

This is a picture of James Dean in the movie East of Eden. It is really Samuel Hamilton in the book that gets me through things, but the choice was between the book cover or James Dean's face. I made the right choice.

Here is a conversation between Adam and Samuel, after Adam's wife/mother of his twin boys leaves him alone, and depressed with a bullet in his shoulder. It starts with Samuel...

"I guess the last bad habit a man will give up is advising."
"I don't want advice."
"Nobody does. It's a giver's present. Go through the motions, Adam."
"What motions?"
"Act out being alive, like a play. And after a while, a long while, it will be true."

Adam is depressed and empty, and Samuel doesn't tell him he shouldn't feel that way. He just tells him to pretend he doesn't and eventually he won't feel it anymore. I have never gotten or gave advice like that. I have felt similar to Adam, and talked to a friend, and they do always tell you it will be better over time, but what they forget to tell you is that it won't be if you keep throwing yourself a pity party. You will feel that way forever if you just keep being sad, or at least that is how it works for me.

Samuel says plenty of other things in East of Eden that I absolutely love, but that will be all I share for now. There is so much more about these three people (two fictional) that have helped me through hard times. I have told a few people that if they want to understand how I think and feel all they have to really do is read East of Eden, watch Garden State, and listen to Josh Ritter. Something about myself has really been captured in these three different things.

ATE EIGHT ATE

#8- A picture that makes you laugh

Things that happened that day...

"Are you real liberals?" -some old lady at the rally

Man stands in front of us with his 5 kids, crosses his arms and glares at us for 5 minutes then claims that we were making him look stupid in front of his kids, and trying to intimidate him.

"What does your sign say?" I answer and then, of course, the next question, "are you legal?" - a good 10 people at the rally.

"Your sign is a contradiction."- a good ten people.

Some man telling us how he doesn't have health insurance, and doesn't ever want it, and that is why he is mad about health care.

It was a very entertaining day, filled with a bunch of entertaining people. Isaac and I didn't do anything, but smile and hold our signs. Fun day!

"Isn't 7 the most powerfully magical number, wouldn't 7...?"

Day #7- A Picture of somebody/something that has had the biggest impact on you.

This one is hard, because there are so many people/things that have impacted me, and made me who I am.

Like.....

My family that is now 3 people bigger than this picture, and soon to be 4.

My friends (Layton)

Friends (South Weber)

Friends (Logan)

But I am not going to talk about any of those people. I am going to talk instead about this person....
Daniel Addison Hilker, my future husband.
He is involved and apart of all those different pictures. He is my family, and soon is going to be legally. He has spent time with my friends from South Weber, Layton, and Logan (we actually met in Logan). He sometimes makes me crazy, but at the same time he is the one keeping me sane. I love him to death. He has helped me through hard times, cried with me, laughed with me, and loved me no matter what stupid thing I do. He is the most service minded person. He wants to help constantly, and everyone. Not for his gain, but because he enjoys making someone's life that much easier. He loves me for who I am, and wouldn't ask for me to change a thing. He helps me remember what it is important. I have know him for three years, and although we have had a rough times. He has always been the one person I can count on throughout those years. I am so happy that he is the man that I will be with forever.

ME x 6

Day #6 is post a picture that captures your true self

I think two pictures I have posted capture my true self really well, but I will choose another. The two are the HP pic, and the Spectrum pic.

Here is another....

I am the one with the hole in her shoes, and if you didn't know that then you don't know me. Why does this picture capture my personality? Well I don't really enjoy getting all dressed up, or purchasing lots of nice clothes. I would rather just be comfortable in my holey shoes. I am fairly laid back. You will notice that my toe nails are painted although that is unlike me, I like that they are. Because it shows that although I don't appear as girly as the other 6 girls, I still am. I think this picture really does capture, "Alexis Lopez."

Others considered....
